If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you are a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in! (Shel Silverstein)

A woman I know

  1. nice work! with many details!

  2. This woman appears to be in a Zombie-like state of mind – numb and lifeless.

Perhaps she is overwhelmed by the cacophony and contrasts of external stimuli in her life that she cannot control. As a result, she is feeling dazed and also divided. The many, clearly delineated colours on her head and body may externally reflect what is happening to her as she attempts to absorb and compartmentalize her various experiences.

The striped fish is in her hair literally; maybe figuratively as well. Does this fish also weigh on her mind?

Perhaps the many symbols of the female sex in evidence are manifestations of her multiple and ever changing personalities, randomly set amongst some of the main elements of her life - music, food, wine, cycling, trees, sun (moon?), sky (and more).

The suspended Lock could mean anything. Yet, it is juxtaposed over the cubed buildings in the background – Is this symbolic of the woman feeling imprisoned in her apartment or office – constrained by her current lifestyle? Is she feeling like something or someone else is in control of her fate?

The ladder may be a release - the escape mechanism to a universe unknown.

  3. I like your comment. I would rather to have no exlanation on this.
